Have used this reel for near 6 months and absolutely love it! Originally got it for a big swimbait reel, but it is so much more versatile than that! With 35 lbs of drag and a clicker it’s great for tossing out live or cut bait for drum or catfish. Using it again now for big swimbaits!
Also love how comfortable it is! Most large reels are quite uncomfortable when repeatedly casting large lures all day!

After having great success with a Royale Legend II 200 reel on salmon, I decided to get another Kastking offering with greater line capacity. Just in case, because larger kings always show up late during the run. Mounted on a Lamiglas X-11 and spooled with approximately 130 yards of 80 lb. braid, this reel performed great. It casts well with heavy baits and gear, is smooth on the retrieve, and has an incredibly strong drag. All functions give audible, tactile clicks. This one effortlessly handled 2 king salmon, the largest of which was 36 lbs. That fish tested every function of this reel 4 times over in moving water, but the Kapstan came out on top. This combo will is my new favorite for kings. Another good, affordable option for folks who need a stronger reel and higher line capacity for large fish

Solid have not used them yet drag is unbelievable you must make a 400 series then you will own a huge portion of the over size low profile reels market also consider different speed ratios but don’t change anything on the reel

This reel is a beast. Don't let the price deceive you. Very smooth and easy to dial in. Casts a mile too. I have it on a dobyns fury 806sb swimbait rod and I have no complaints. It is a bit on the beefy side size and weight wise but, the performance is worth dealing with the size.

What can I say a great reel great bang for your buck purchase this reel for glide bait fishing s waver and larger swimbaits holds plenty of line 4 long cast and has great drag I have it on at 8 foot heavy rod I'm going to purchase another one also has like a great handle 4 power and it is very smooth

Over all it handles big baits with ease and when fighting a fish it definitely has pulling power. To open the brake setting you just have to loosen the tension spool fist. Also this reel has great drag and pulling power. Was able to land a 43 inch striper with it. No problem Overall decent for the price.

I really like the kapstan 300. Very smooth casting. My easiest casting reel in my arsenal. I use it for smaller yellowtail and tuna. Wish they made it in a 500!

Absolute wonderful real it's caught me over 5 muskies this year and over a few 48 inch sturgeons, and it has room for the drag to be tightened even more definitely recommended, and also the fact that it has a loud baitclicker is a really nice.

It is definitely versatile. I love the bait clicker option for catfish and pier fishing. It reels in fish with ease. It works great for me having the extra line capacity because go to the beach and fish at the pier with my dad, go to the lake thats near my house, and occasionally go boat fishing. I’ve gotten compliments on the style. I’m actually surprised nobody notices the large size.

Plenty of line capacity and drag got to 350ft easy with 40lb cast pro to catch 6lb Red Rockfish. Casts iron jigs no problem.

I've used several different brands of reels over the years and used everything from spinning reels to the big round baitcasters and at least fir me this reel outcasts all of them. It will easily cast 50-60 yards without even thinking about it once you get it adjusted properly. Kastking hit a homerun with this one. Only downside is that I had a problem running braid on it ( didn't put any backing on it because I thought the spool was braid ready) and the drag was slipping constantly.. changed it out to 17 pound mono and it's been great ever since.

Got the Capstan to throw big swim baits on, its larger size and high line capacity was just what I was looking for. It casts great and its very smooth retrieve allows me to work a big swim bait like it should be. The over size handle is comfortable and powerful. This is a great reel for fishing for any large fish or throwing large baits.
