Speed Demon Pro Lithium-ion Electric Fillet Knife

I've had several Kast King items and true to form, was not disappointed in this purchase. The fillet knife comes with four different sized articulating blade sets. I've never owned a "fishing" fillet knife before, si I wasn't familiar with the two blade design that this knife has. The blades reciprocate opposingly, creating a dual cutting action that quickly cuts through the flesh. I didn't have any fish to practice on, but i DID have some beef roasts and a whole chicken. I opted for the smallest of the blade sets and went to town. Did a great job of quartering the chicken, but got hung up on the beef fat. Anyone who has ever cleaned a deer will understand that sinew and fat are some of the hardest things to cut, so I don't think it was a failuer, only that I was using it for something it wasn't designed for. Its a great kit, stores in a nice flat, easily stowable padded case, and will have a permanent home in my fish cleaning arsenal. Having nothing to compare it to, I'd say this is the BEST fillet knife I've ever owned!

Case came in a super nice case with cut compartments. Super easy to store and travel with. This will be a great gift for my family member who fishes and loves to eat fish. Super easy to assemble and use.

My first impression is that this is a well built unit. The fit and finish is a little less polished compared to most KastKing products. The kit comes with two different blade styles - I'll probably use the smaller blades more often but it's nice to have the larger blades when needed.

I like the safety switch location that makes it easy to disable the knife. The blade release switch is out of the way which prevents accidental blade release which is a problem on my other knife.

I need to test out the kit on a few fish to see how I feel about the hand guard. The grip is a bit large diameter but has a non slip material and that guard should prevent your hands from slipping toward the blades.

The bag is a great added value to help keep everything organized. Overall I would say this is a great value product. Time will tell how well the battery holds up.
