My son loves to fish, I bought the kastking mg-ti elite and paired it with a megabass orochi xx braillist. We live in florida and he has caught bass and snake heads on the first day of use, he really loves this combo, it's perfect he says
My favorite reel and new to the collection. It really is smooth and backlash’s on this reels have been really hard come by. I actually had to try so that I can see how bad it gets. The backlash was not hard to correct, hence definitely cementing this as my favorite reel!
I haven't thrown anything heavy on it yet but it's bombing the 3/16th micro chatterbait with no issues. Thinking about buying another.
Alright, I’ve gotta say it — the KastKing MG12 Elite Titanium might just be my new favorite toy. The first time I picked it up, I thought the box was empty. This thing is crazy light — only 4.8 ounces — but somehow still feels solid, like it’s carved out of one piece of confidence. The titanium spool and magnesium frame make it feel more like a precision instrument than a fishing reel.
Out on the water, it’s a finesse dream. I’m slinging little swimbaits, weightless worms, and finesse jigs like I’m auditioning for a slow-motion casting commercial. The titanium spool starts up instantly, so even tiny baits fly like they’ve got somewhere important to be. The braking system is stupid smooth — once you dial it in, you can pretty much forget about backlashes unless you’re trying to impress your buddies with trick casts (ask me how I know).
It’s buttery smooth on the retrieve, the drag’s tighter than my budget after buying it, and it feels so balanced that I caught myself just casting for fun. Paired with a nice light rod, the MG12 Elite Ti feels like an extension of your arm — or maybe like fishing with Jedi powers.
Bottom line: the MG12 Elite Ti absolutely punches way above its weight class. It’s light, powerful, stupid fun to fish with, and looks sharp doing it. Whether you’re a finesse junkie or just want a reel that’ll make you smile every time you cast — this little guy delivers.
An update to my previous review......the reel has been great so far and the drag clicker is highly informative on letting me know where i want it set right in the fight. Pulled in a 40" pike today, he pulled drag for a 2 minute fight. He broke my pretty new Royal Advantage 7'6" MH rod though. Still casting great, keeping the brakes set at around 3.
