Perfect for my ice fishing rods and has a smooth drag. I have noticed that if it is really cold or it has been sitting in snow that the lube gets thick inside of the reel and you feel a bit of resistance but after you spin it a few times it goes back to normal so far no complaints
I fished one very cold day with 3 different ice rod and reel combos and no shanty . This reel was the only one out of the three that didna??t freeze up. Well made product
Have it on my 31" jawjacker ice fishing rod and 30lb braided line. I like thata??s the handle collapses to fit in my rod case.
This is a good working reel, it looks really good on a custom made rod. Bought this as a replacement for one previously purchased. The bolt that holds the handle in came out and was lost, and then the handle was lost and we could not find a way to replace either of them.
Slapped this on my ice reel this year. It caught me a 23+ inch walleye on 4lb kastking mono. The drag was flawless. Very happy with this reel.
I ordered two of these reels the main on I wanted was the white 3000, also order the black in 4000. Put the white on a Shakespeare excursion rod for a nice budget setup. The pairing feels good to me and looks awesome.
