I have used this rod for over a year with no issues. I recently had a user error issue and even though it was after the 1 year warrenty I contacted KastKing and they worked quickly to make things right! thanks so much, definitely will remain a loyal customer and proud owner of 2 KastKing Blackhawk II rods

Very sturdy overall a great buy to throw in the trunck or in a backpack.

Kind of sketchy on the telescopic after I bought a Shakespeare and it broke first cast. This is perfect. Great sensitivity and casting thank you!

Way better than I expected it to be once I took it out for a spin

A great collapsing rod, light weight, paired with the Verus Assassin reel.
Would be better if had a solid storage traveling case; to reduce the possibility of rod breakage.

It’s one of the best friendly budget telescopic rod. I have caught a couple bluegills and it handles it really good! I would highly recommend it for traveling and pond hooping.

The rod tip snapped on my first cast attempt. Potentially a defective product. Total loss.

I haven’t had a chance to fish with it but anticipate using it when we travel to Tulum, Mexico next month. I purchased it because of its compact nature and am excited to see how it performs.

I purchased the Kastking Blackhawk II telescopic rod for a recent trip to Florida. I used it for inshore fishing. I caught lots of fish with the rod and it performed perfectly. We mostly caught Spanish Mackerel, Trout, Reds and Sheepshead. All were medium sized fish with good fight. The rod had decent backbone and better feel than I expected. I Paired it with a Penn Pursuit III 4000 reel and 20lb Kastking braid and it was a really nice setup that didn't break the bank and fit great in a suitcase.

This is an amazing telescopic fishing rod that I have traveled all the way to South Africa with. I have two of them sitting with my possessions in South Africa. I now carry one in the trunk of my Prius. I believe this to be the highest quality collapsible fishing rod on the market. It would be nice if it collapsed to even a smaller length, but I have learned to adjust to that one problem. It looks good and has a great action and it does catch fish.

I just received my third KastKing Blackhawk II telescopic rod, and as always, I'm a very satisfied customer. The build quality is top notch, the rod feels great in my hand, and after 2 years of use, I have no doubt in it's ability to land any fish I happen to be going after.

Rod feels good. Ive used it once so far no issies action felt decent. Did not catch anything so ill update if I have an issue when that happens. Only dislike is that it feels impossible to get the guides to line up straight. Which they would lock into place in the right direction.

These rods are awesome for travel. I travel alot for work and i always bring my Blackhawk rods. I have two spinning Blackhawk rods and have now added this casting rod to the kit. They are made well, easy to use, and pack very well. Its entirely possible that i end up with several more of these rods. I would definately recommend.

I recieved my kastking telescopic casting rod today. Unboxed it, put a Pflueger baitcaster on it and took it fishing. First, it is very light, well balanced and compact. Second, it cast extremely well. I was not expecting this level of quality from a $49 travel rod. I am a little OCD. So, it took me over 1 minute to align all the guides. But, I was fishing within 5 minutes of shutting down my truck. Three cast to get a feel for the action and power; then proceeded to fish. I have only reviewed 3 other items in the last 15 years. But, I am so impressed with the Kastking Blackhawk 2 rod that I had to share my experience. Thank you "Kastking". I will be ordering a spinning rod to have a complete set.

I have mine paired with the Valiant Eagle Spinning Reel from KastKing. Same beautiful gold anodized accents. Floating guides gives the rod a one piece feeling, moves with you and very sensitive. It needed adjustment like 2 times in a whole evening of fishing. The tip, feels like a extra fast, but it does provide a one piece sensitivity.

I was skeptical about a telescopic rod before I got this one. I really like where the rod can but put in small places. I got the 8.86 feet medium heavy so the telescopic makes it easy for me to transport and it doesn’t take up much room on my boat. I wanted a longer rod to be able to get my drop shot lure out there a little further. This rod seems to be made of high quality material and feels great. Works great when you need a good rod that doesn’t take up much space. I normally use this for bass fishing but will be trying it out on some crappie soon. After using this rod I don’t see that it being telescopic takes anything away from the performance of this rod. Still has good backbone and good hook set. Great rod for great price.

I personally just dont like the floating eyes on tip of pole

I am very happy that I purchased this fishing rod. Mine is the 7’6” MH casting rod. There’s a lot of backbone at the base and it comes with a plastic sheath that protects the guides when collapsed. I was a little disappointed to see that my rod didn’t come with alignment marks like I saw in some of the reviews on YouTube. This rod will stay in my golf bag so I can throw my Chatterbait while waiting on the group in front of us to get out of the way.

Love this rod. Its nice and compact, but still pretty durable. Ive caught some decent channel cats, sunfish, blue gills, and small bass, so idk if it could stand up to reeling in a monster but im pretty sure you could. Its nice to have a rod i can toss in my rig and Ive used it atleast once a week for the last 2 months and it is still like new. Definitely recommend for the traveling angler.

I forgot to take a photo but I caught a good 5 pound bass with this no problem! I was worried about it breaking because of its flexibility but it held up very well! I'm hoping to catch a good catfish with this, that'll really test it out! I got the 7'6" inshore 10-25lbs test pole. Takes a bit to get set up but the portability overrides that issue. Buy one!

I have been using Kastking products for 4 years now. This telescopic rod is great for the price point. I mainly use it when riding my bike to different ponds. Great for smaller types of fish under the 5lb range. The tip is fast action and even works decently for panfish. I would recommend for something compact to keep in a car or biking or traveling with.

Took this on a trip to the coast in Texas. I didn't want to bring a big rod case on the plane so I stuffed this in my suitcase. Worked great for fishing behind the house. Caught a variety of fish with it including decent size cat fish tossing a 1 ounce weight. I bought this and the cheaper version. Both survived.

My go to rod wherever I'm going on trips and space is limited. I know many will be worried about the performance but let me tell you that you will feel bites with this rod. Now this is not my main rod but I prefer this telescopic rod than a two piece rod. For the money and travel advantages is definitely worth picking it up.
