I have this spliced into some 100lbs hollow core braid as a cow shock leader. With braid breaking above its rating typically, I have a thinner stronger setup than normal. I also run it in front large lures
I've experimented with a lot of monofilament leader lines. Handling the shock of surf casting and the fight of trophy fish requires a durable line Kastking really stands up. Great value too.
Excellent leader line. I just got into kayak fishing and use this in the bay for stripers and its great. Very strong but flexible and easy to tie. Seems to have a high knot strength and doesnt stretch near as much as other leading brands. Havent had any line breakage and dont expect to. This is a great mono leader line that I highly recommend definitely worth a try and you can't beat the price. I even used this ice fishing got a nice Pike and the line held up. KastKing is coming out with some great products. I use there braid as well and love it. Havent found a line that casts as smooth as theres. Give it a try youll be happy you did.
I’ve been using kastking mono for all my smaller fish leader line. It works great. I usually get the 30lbs. and handles everything I hook. I do get cut off occasionally by bigger fish or perhaps sharks. I’ve landed snook, snapper, sheepshead with ease with this leader. Overall It’s cost effective and works. Highly recommended.
This is really tough line. I tested it against another brand of 40lb fluorocarbon line by tying a 2lb. weight to a length of both lines and dragging the weight up and down over the edge of a concrete wall. The 40lb.fluorocarbon line wore and broke after 15 pulls. The KastKing line was worn but still intact after 20 pulls. Used it while bottom fishing in salt water and it held up nicely even though I caught the bottom a few times and had to pull very hard to get free. Ties nicely and is very clear.
