Shipping package is outstanding. This reel is as smooth as any other out there. The bait click for use when multiple rods used is the best. I usually like to use bait casters with the bait click but do enjoy the casting ease of a spinning rig. Well worth the money!!!PS the drag work great for those smokers.

I fish inland saltwater alot. I have been using Penn live liners for years and this Kastking performs better than all my live liners. Smoother live drag, smoother live liner drag, smoother casting. I will be replacing all of my Penn's with these at 1/2 the cost!!!!!!! Great job

Feels like a high quality reel!

For a 5000 real it's pretty light. Got the bait feeder version because I'm going after carp and catfish. Wanted to use it for some light shore fishing so got the bigger size.

I believe the founders of Kastking did in fact give the consumer 30 percent cost savings for same quality , but better design features in a couple of areas ; slope taper near line roller, and larger rear drag knob on bait feeder reel. But , I did encounter , twice , the reel handle not seating tight, without wobble play at the hinge joint of reel handle. Kast king did respond quickly and replaced my reels , the
3000 Sharky 3 baitfeeder. You won't get this price point on a baitfeeder reel from okuma or Shimano, or others.

I’ve bought 6 of these reels so far. Baitfeeder is an awesome feature to have night fishing for big cats!

Bought several of the 6000 size reels for catfishing. Couple had to go back but exchanges were easy and quick. Can’t beat them for the price.

Since posting my initial review, Eposeidon sent me an email and has made good on their product. They sent me a replacement reel and I have had no problems with the line loading wrong. I used this reel casting mirrodines, Yozuri topwater baits and popping corks and so far the reel has performed flawlessly. I am happy with the performance and consistency I have experienced from this reel but more importantly I am happy with Eposeidon for standing behind their product and taking care of their customers.

I was excited to try this Baitfeeder reel. The stats are impressive and the reels looks great. The reel arrived and looked beautiful. I spooled #30 braid on it and the action of the spool did not load the line evenly. The line bunched up at the top of the spool and at the bottom there was a gap.

UPDATE ON REEL,I purchased a 2nd reel to go on my Akataka Spinning Casting Fishing Rod Pure Carbon Fiber 1pc Baitcasting Rod,Sensitive Durable Bass Fishing Pole for Freshwater Saltwate rod.this reel and rod combo is a real fishing setup. Not sure why some nit pick the reel because so far I have hauled in blues in the 20+ pound class.30 pound braided line works like a dream. After using the KAST-KING,I would never go back to any other brand reel. It's strong, smooth, built well and will out do reels costing 300.00I purchased this reel and it seems to be a tad big for my 7 foot ugly stick but I just decided to keep it.Well built and very strong but it just will not hold enough 30 pound braided line for me.I assumed a reel this size would hold much more 30 pound line then what I have.I think I have 1/2 of the 327 yards of line on the spool

The Baitfeeder III has been a pleasure to use while fishing cajun cork set ups over oyster beds and tidal water inlets fishing for reds and trout. The cast is smooth using 20# braid. Retrieve is effortless and the large crank handle is appreciated when it's fish on. After you set the baitfeeder switch the bail and drag are positive as soon as you crank the handle. The reel feels positive and solid and the extra spool is a bonus for those of us that like to use different strength braids depending on our conditions. This is the first baitfeeder I have owned so it took a little getting used to set the drag switch and just listen for it. I've always just loosened the drag then readjusted after a catch. This is much better by design and removes the guess work of resetting the drag.

An absolutely amazing reel. I owned the previous Sharky II and liked it, but this one feels EVEN smoother and more SOLID. I'll be using my 3000's for large catfish from a Kayak and the bigger 6000 for Sharks from the surf and catfish bank fishing. BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK! Oh yeah and the clicker is extremely loud which I love. All my previous baitfeeders had quiet clickers.

My favorite catfish reel. The features alone set it above my name brand store bought reels. The quality of the build is pretty solid and its a very smooth caster. I would rather buy 2 of these than the overpriced store reels that are likely made int he same place as the KastKing. I paired this real with Shakespeare USSP702M Ugly Stik GX2 2-Piece. For bottom fishing it doesn't get any better than an ugly stick that has a graphite feel.

I love my reel

Seems very smooth casting and retrieving

I put 60pound braid on it and tight down the drag all the way and the drag still goes out with 5lb channel I wouldn't think that should happen

I own 6 SharkyIII reels- I've used them in the Gulf, the Keys, Salmon fishing, Sturgeon fishing, big cats, etc- they are literally the best reel for the money on the market!
