Spartacus Defender Twin-Tip Baitcaster Rod and Reel Combo

So far its great. I had very little experience with baitcasters so after putting the line on and making a few cast to get it dialed in I'd say its good to go. Don't get me wrong, if I cast wrong or dont adjust the brakes it will birds nest. In my experience its been really easy to use and lots of fun.

Great combo. It's now my go to jerkbait/ finesse set up. I can cast this thing a country mile.

Absolutely love the Spartacus Defender. Once the gears are dialed in, it has a smooth cast and a smooth retrieve. Great cast distance, as well as great bite sensitivity. It is lightweight but able to stand the fight of big fish. Definitely recommend this casting combo.

Great pole

I recently got into bass fishing been a fly fisherman for years. Didn’t want to spend a ton on a new hobby since I didn’t know what to get or what style of fishing I would end up liking. A buddy told me not to get a bait caster but being I’m a man I disregarded his advice. This rod is pretty dialed for the price, I’d say quality wise seems a little nicer than most of your box store alternatives at similar price. I personally dig the paint scheme but could see it being a bit garish for some, aside the rod has a nice action and seems a true medium to me which is what I was after. The rod nor the reel are gonna compete with the super high end stuff but they aren’t supposed to, and you know what they perform just fine. Happy with the brakes, retrieve, and overall build quality of both the rod and reel.

I’ve got plenty of experience with ultra high end stuff on the fly fishing side so I at least have some idea of what that gets you, smoothness, finishing, all the bearings etc. if that’s what you’re looking for look at something different, but if you want an honest, versatile combo with a solid build quality you won’t be disappointed.
