Throw it on a 7’3”+ heavy power rod with some 40+ lb braid and you got the perfect rod for frogs, Texas rigs, jigs, and my favorite, a paddle tail swimbait. This thing is not just good for bass fishing, but it’s great for snakehead and even big pickerel or pike as well! I’ve caught countless pickerel, bass and even a big snakehead using this reel with a 5 inch Keitech fat swing impact on a 5/0 weightless screwlock hook, reel that bait on the surface and it’ll get crushed! Also great for swim jigs, flipping jigs, frogs, and Texas rigs

Absolutely Incredible Reel!!!

I had always had a VERY low opinion on Kast King reels. Have close friends that only used Kast King reels but in a full day of fishing would watch them struggle with backlashes, casting distance and simply overall quality.

Fast forward to the Deadbolt and I am blown away. I’ve hoped and wished for a reel that had zero drag or could effectively “lock out” the drag. Fishing in Central Florida, you are constantly fishing heavy cover, heavy vegetation, etc. with heavy braid. The LAST thing you want is a fish pulling drag on you.

Setting the hook with this reel, you just have to feel it to understand. It’s perfect!

Additionally, it casts like a dream, giving the distance along with the power you need to confidently cover water in these conditions because you know your hooksets are going to deliver 100% power!

Frog Reel

I used this reel as my frog reels… I use different style of frogs so I have bought 3 of them… love these reels

So far so good

I've only got to fish once with the dead bolt but I did catch fish with it and it performed flawlessly. I will say I have to get a little more used to the cast control settings because I believe once I get it really dialed in it will help me cast further and more accurate. It fits my hand perfectly, looks good, and does exactly as it should. It's my frog reel and I'll eventually get another for punching/flipping grass.
