Enjoy the smooth operation of the Zephyr thanks to 7+1 double shielded ball bearings. In addition to being smooth, this new BFS reel gives you a 5.2:1 gear ratio for a good balance of torque and speed with a line retrieve rate of 23.8 IPT.
Strength Where You Need It
Braid ready CNC aluminum hard-anodized two tone spool prevents braid line from slipping under pressure, there's no need for monofilament backing, 6061-T6 Aluminum (as used in many automotive parts), handle with EVA paddle grip, brass pinion gear, alloy drive gear with stainless steel insert, stainless steel hardware.

Superior carbon fiber constructed body, body cover and rotor let Zephyr 1000 spinning reels weigh in at only 5.3 oz. Oversized 7075-T6 aluminum alloy main shafts are light yet extremely strong. 7075-T6 alloy is as hard as many steels, but in a lighter-weight aluminum. This little reel has served me well for its first Australian Bass season.
I try to get out every Friday after work in the Kayak with a few sneeky sessions in between. I have lost count the amount of fish this thing has bought in and the amount of times it has castes since purchasing just over a year ago. It's my go to for Australia Bass, Estuary Perch, Bream and flathead. I'm about to give it a go for Ludrick.
I love its absolutely amazing for finicky fish fish I use it for trout and it pulls em in smooth and can deal with a fight 10/10 recommend

This rod and reel work together well.
This reel is very light and seems to be built very well. Paired with some finesse braided line (6lb), I was able to cast it a good distance. Overall I am very happy with it. This is my first time trying KastKing and it made me want to look at another reel to buy.
Actually bought this one for my wife, i bought a Zephyr 500 for me. She loves it, looks awesome and super smooth….might steal it from her!
