Tips for Organizing Your Tackle
How many lures, hooks and terminal tackle do you have in your boat or tackle box? If you are like me, the numbers far outweigh anywhere near what you could probably use in a year, or maybe even longer! Organizing a tackle box is something every angler should take care of. If your tackle is unorganized, chances are you will spend more time searching for that favorite lure than actually casting it in an attempt to land your favorite species. KastKing has made organizing your tackle box/bag/storage locker on boat easy with the addition of quality storage boxes. Your tackle box in the boat should be well maintained, and labeled, making finding lures a quick and easy task, rather than a struggle.
The KastKing Lineup
KastKing started off with the basic plastic tackle box similar to most brands. The next box up was the new Hyper Seal Waterproof Tackle Box, followed by the Bait Vault Camouflage Tackle Boxes. All three of these boxes come in two sizes – 3600 and 3700, with the Bait Vault offering a rounded or typical square corner. For your tackle box organization, these three, or any combination of the three will keep your gear at your fingertips. And, I have also heard that a new 3-inch deep box is in the works, but more on that at a later date.
The Utility Tackle Box
These were the first KastKing tackle boxes I grabbed when they were launched. They are durable, have held up great on my boat, and served me well, keeping my tackle box organized. They are also made of a heavy enough plastic to not crack in the colder weather like other tackle boxes I have had in the past.
- Adjustable dividers for customizable organization
- The clear, yet durable material allows you to see the contents of your lure box without having to unlatch and open the lid, making it quick and easy to find and change baits at a moment's notice.
- Built with a thick rugged frame, the KastKing fishing tackle box provides anglers with a durable storage and organizing solution for hard baits, plastics, terminal tackle, and tools. KastKing's sturdy molded latches ensure contents stay secure.
- Compatible With Standard Tackle Bags – KastKing 3600 tackle box and 3700 tackle box are designed to be interchangeable with all KastKing tackle bags, and will also fit into any standard size tackle bag with a 3600 or 3700 size footprint.
These tackle boxes work great and will definitely keep any angler organized. Bear in mind, "they are not waterproof" so make sure the tackle you put back in is dry or rust may become an issue down the road.
Hyper Seal Waterproof Tackle Box
I have always had a problem with the occasional rusty hook(s) in my plastic boxes at times. Part of the problem, and I'll admit, was laziness by putting wet hooks or lures back in the tackle box. When KastKing came out with the new Hyper Seal Waterproof Tackle Box, I jumped on board for a lot of my lures and terminal tackle. I still use conventional boxes, but now I am a lot more careful with those.
- 3600 and 3700 sizes
- Adjustable dividers
- Dividers lock into place so terminal tackle cannot slide underneath
- Waterproof, shock and wear resistant
- Sealing ring attaches to the lid
- One hand opening
There is no question that these tackle boxes, in my experience, will ensure zero rust on lures and terminal tackle, especially with the silica pack included with each box. Organizing a tackle box is made easy and waterproof with the new Hyper Seal boxes.
Bait Vault Camouflage Tackle Box
When organizing a tackle box, dividers and the size of the box is crucial. The Bait Vault Camouflage Tackle Boxes come in four colors – red, green, blue and orange, and a unique divider system to better hold larger baits, or work with smaller ones if the angler chooses to do so. The color coding can be used to distinguish between styles of baits or terminal tackle.
- 3600 and 3700 sizes with rounded or square corners
- Unique design adjustable dividers to better serve larger lures
- Heavy duty construction for durability
- Transparent lid to easily identify without opening
- Built in surface length scale
A solid addition to the line-up that will make organizing your tackle box easy, and make it simple to find exactly what you need on every outing.
Plastic Bags
Another issue with organizing your tackle box (on the boat) is where to store all those soft plastic baits. I can tell you that over the years I have tried every soft plastic bait storage holder out there. Soft plastics come in a variety of package styles, so no binder of sorts really fits them all, plus the variations of soft plastics are endless. For me, these days on my Javelin I use 2-gallon heavy duty zip-lock style storage bags. I label them according to style, then keep them in one tackle box on the boat.
Tackle box storage and organizing your tackle is a something you need to stay on top of. Utilizing all the KastKing tackle boxes for various items will keep it simple and well organized.
