Lost the first trout I put on the grips.. I personally don’t trust the grips anymore and will be looking into new ones. The pliers aren’t so bad just feel a bit cheap but you get what you pay for.

Nice small set of fishing pliers and fish grippers. I've only had this set about a month. That being said after 4 trips every thing is still working as it should. No rust has appeared. These are plenty sturdy for the fish i catch inshore. I would imagine you would need something beefier for any kind of salt water fishing. The plier are spring loaded to open which is a really nice touch for one handed operations. The fish grippers have handled any walleyes I've hooked into so far. Im pretty pleased with this set so far. It they last the test of time they could be a great value. The only reason i gave the set 4 stars is the included holster for the pliers is straight up garbage. The pliers just sit in them. No active retention so if you lean over or knock your bag over they fall out of them. Thats the reason they are in the pouch on my little day pack.
