The Kestrel Baitcasting Reel redefines angling with a host of premium features. Its TPE handle, meticulously designed for comfort, ensures a superior grip, turning every cast into a pleasure.

Equipped with the Finesse Optimized FAF (Flyout Arc Finesse) Braking system: Two half-ring magnetic brakes automatically adjust to slow down the spool when braking is needed to prevent backlashes. As the speed of the spool decreases, the magnetic field inside the spool diminishes and the magnets retract to maximize casting distance. There is also an external fingertip brake adjustment dial for fine tuning spool speeds for smaller baits.

Mastery in finesse extends to the Kestrel's shallow spool, a micro-marvel weighing only 5.6 grams. Perfectly suited for smaller diameter lines, this ultra-lightweight shallow feather spool enables anglers to cast down to an impressive 1/32 oz with minimal effort.

Casting reel

I haven’t received my reel yet! A bit disappointed as fishing opened today and I have to use my other equipment. Hope it arrives soon. The other rods and reels I ordered from you have come and are super.

Rod Strength May Be Suspect

While rigging the rod up after spooling the reel for the first time, was pulling the line down from the last guide to tie on a jig, the rod snapped about 12” from the tip. Stuff happens and it was just “one of those things”. Got on the website to see what the process was for getting a replacement and found that it will cost me another $20 and extra time to fix either a manufacturer defect or a problem that occurred sometime in the process of getting the rod to me. Not worth me spending more money and wasting time on something this cheap. Will just know not to buy any more Kast King rods and will move on. The reel feels nice though.

Great reel

I had my reservations about the quality of the reels and rods offered by Kast King but heard good things so I decided to roll the dice. I was not disappointed! Reel casts light BFS lures a long distance with easy and I have had 0 backlash issues. The rod is light and sensitive. I am very happy with my Kestrel BFS rod and reel!
