I'm only giving this reel 4 stars because I only was able to use it a few times before my savage 9 lb cat broke it from the outside causing the internal main gear of the clicker to dislocate and break without the reel ever being open. So obviously it may have a durability issue considering that my cat is literally only 9 lbs and the reels drag on the size 10 is supposed to hold 25 lbs. But I'm going to order another one just to make sure this isn't a fluke one time Incident type of thing. Because the reason I'm still giving it 4 stars is because it casts like a dream but anyway I hope the next one is more durable than a 9 lb cat.
Got the 20 Series Level Wind - performs flawlessly, have had it out whacking +30” Gag Grouper, Red Snapper and even one 7’ Nurse Shark.
Fishing +100’ of water, the KK has plenty of drag to handle the big uns from the deep
Just like the Sharky III’s I use for Inshore, these can handle the super tough SW environment.
Bought 2 line counters to pair with chrome rods for 360 salmon fishing. First use, handle fell apart on 1 reel. Put it back together and it keeps happening so returning it on Amazon and getting a replacement. They have already landed several fish, drag is very sensitive and a very fine line between good and to tight. Comparing to my cold water reels, wish the drag had "clicks" for progression in tightening/loosening. So far, still a decent reel and I'll continue to torture test them much like the rod
Just received my ReCon 20 with the line counter today! Put it on my pole, spooled it up with some KastKing super braid 20lb line. Now, I’m looking forward to using it soon!
