I haven’t had a chance to test this reel out but because the other reels that I have from kastking have not let me down at all. I will be testing the reel out tomorrow morning

Great reel for the price! I have one already and it’s been great

Great value for the price, but I bought one for inshore purposes and let me tell ya, this thing is heavy compared to my diawas, solid reel for set rigging and targeting maybe tarpon or large stripers, but seems like a bit much for typical inshore scenarios. Great construction though.

KastKing is quickly becoming my go to reels, 5000 model kicks chop all day at jetties, piers, flats, surf. I stand by these rod and reels, very good quality and craftmanship no doubt, made very strong, but light.

Rekon 8000 Spinning Reel

I used a Rekon 8000 for surf fishing at Hilton Head. It easily handled several sharks and redfish in the 40-100 lb range. I am really impressed with the drag and smoothness of the reel. Thank you for making such a high quality reel at such an affordable price! I must also mention that their customer service is exceptional!
