Great reel! Also compatible with other reels I own

Bought this in size 2000 to pair with a 7' ML St Croix rod I have, and upgrade the reel from the Kastking Valiant Eagle 2000 reel that was on it. Loved that reel, I actually have 4 of them spread across various setups, but thought it needed an upgrade.

Used it a couple times so far and it is definitely what I was missing on that rod. Went as far as to piece together a twin tip M 7'2" Drop Shot RL Pro rod and a second 2000 RL Pro reel. Also picked up an extra spool.

The happy coincidence here? The RL Pro 2000 just happens to share the same spool as the Valiant Eagle 2000. There are style changes and such, but the spools are completely interchangeable. I tried to order an extra spool for my VEs but it was discontinued. I wanted an extra spool for some higher pound line so I can easily swap setups.

The color, the outside profile, the cuts on the spool are different, but the inside, the drag, everything that counts is EXACTLY the same between them. So now I know that I have 6 interchangeable setups.

Everything else between the two is similar, but upgraded on the RL Pro. The handle, the material (Graphite vs carbon fiber), the main gear material, the rotor design, etc.

I guess if anything, I'm consistent with my taste.

Would highly recommend this reel, and the paired RL Pro rod is excellent as well. Taking that out this weekend for its trial run.

If your hesitant about buying this reel. Don't be. Run before they are gone and your sitting there wishing you did. You will not be disappointed. Worth every penny. Actually thinking about buying another one as back up. They're that good. Drag I'd frigging top notch and it casts like a dream.
