Spartacus 2

I bought 3 of these reels for my son’s 11th birthday. He’s just getting into bass fishing so I wanted a reasonable price point but a quality reel. It definitely didn’t disappoint. The first time he fished with them he was able to set the hook on 4 good bass and the reels performed flawlessly. Thank you so much for a great product with a greater price point.

If you are looking for a reel to launch lures at a cheap price point, this is the reel. Paired with a 7’ MH rod and 20 lbs test flouro it will launch 3/8-1/2oz spinnerbaits far enough that you will question your ability to set the hook at such a far distance. I haven’t had any backlash issues.

One drawback, it does “scream” at times. LOUD! The first time you hear it, it WILL startle you. Very high pitched sound. The sound isn’t very cast. If you listen close you can hear it say, “This. Is. Sparta!!”

I would buy another if it weren’t for the periodic loud sound. Overall great reel for the price point.
