yes i love the Brutus bait casting reel it is smooth
and outstanding thank you kastking
Just getting more into bait casters and I must say. The Brutus? You can't beat it! For the price and the feel? It's a very smooth reel even while reeling in this 19in 4lb largie!
Since getting my Rover 40 I havee bought a UL spinning reel and two more low profile casting reels. I would not say for the money I got a good deal. I would say for the money I got more than I paid for, very nice reels!
I really like this little reel, so much that I purchased a second. They spool line evenly and cast great. With proper tension knob and brake setting I can make 90-100' casts without issue using a 1/2 oz casting plug. It won't backlash and there's very little spool overrun at the end of the cast. Line retrieval is smooth and quiet. Drag is plenty strong. Neither the tension knob or star drag control provide audible, tactile clicks, however both functions work as they should, so I can live with both.
