Very comfortable handle to use. Good quality steel….holds its edge…easy to clean and store in nice storage box…extra length is perfect for carving large meats….also handy to slice watermelons!
Very sharp out of the box and the rubber handle is really nice to hold. Doesn't slip when wet. Update! Got the 8" after using the 3.5" a couple of times. These knives are great!
Impressive. Very well made, razor sharp, excellent quality from the German steel.
I’ve bought a few of the Kast King fishing & fillet knives in the past & was highly impressed, so I took another gamble and went for the go-to knife everybody uses around the kitchen, namely the paring knife.
This did the job, from dicing onions to cutting through a Jimmy Dean Sausage tube, which is a bear, having first to cut through the plastic wrap, then not bugger the meat. No problem for this only 3.5" blade. Impressive.
Score another win for KastKing & their family of outdoor products (Maelstrom, Poseidon); they always make top quality items. Anytime I see a manufacturer using German or Japanese-based steel, I take note.
I have used this several times during the holiday seasons and have had no problems. I am able to clean it easily an quickly. I have sliced a variety of meats of various sizes both cooked and raw. I have a shaping stone and oil to sharpen when needed. But the blade is still shape since I bought it and I think may have this for a long time.
I am a foodie and my wife has arthritis in her hands, a Chef Knife is a must and a sharp one is a godsend! This has a rubberized handle, assuring a non-slip even wet. Finger indentations in the handle assure a good grip with comfort. The blade is thick steel and shar[ as a tack. I recommend this knife, at this price it is far above anything else within $50 of this price.
