Attention-Manual Bail Design
To reduce line twist, we always recommend manually closing the bail arm after making a cast when using any spinning reel. However, on the size 3000 & 4000 Kapstan Elite Spinning reels, you can turn the handle to close the bail if you prefer. The size 5000/6000 & 8000 Kapstan Elite spinning reels are a different design. These reels require you to manually close the bail to begin the retrieve.

Construction seems to be done very well, it feels like a high quality product and is incredibly smooth
I've had the 4k model since April 2024. So its been a little more than a year. I fish 3 to 4 times a week and target Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, and the occasional Gator Trout. This reel is a tank!! Absolutely love it! I do a lot of wade fishing so my gear gets salty every time I go out. I've had to service my Vanfords 2:1 over this reel. It's smooth, powerful, and you can believe it, waterproof. I find myself reaching for this setup more and more often. Unless I'm casting artificial all night/day. It's a heavy one. But oz for oz it out performs my reels with a $280 price point. Highly recommend!!
I have 3 of these kapstan elite reels in my ever expanding arsenal. IMO they will be a contender in the saltwater fishing game. These are some well built reels. I have the 6k paired with a modified kong. (Sorry kastking, the rod builder in me, has been wanting a crixus surf rod lol.)
This reel is amazing. I got the kapstan 8000 size and it holds tons of line and has a strong drag. The reel is super smooth and has an aluminum body. Compared to other reels with the same features I’d be paying way over 300 dollars. Kastking really hit it out of the ball park with this reel. It is affordable innovation. I really recommend this reel if you’re looking to get an ipx rated reel that won’t break the bank.
Great reel. Smooth action. You won’t be disappointed
I had my reel out on vacation in Massachusetts and got into a big striper blitz. I caught about a dozen fish over a hour and a half. Every one over 20lbs and 3 over 35lbs. I was impressed the reel held strong at the seat and the drag was smooth. I was able to put tons of drag on the fish getting those 35lbers in in less than 3 min. This reel with my odm dna 9-6 put in some serious work. Can’t wait for the fall run.
