1st outing 3rd cast a 10.50 lb striper on a 6"glide, Reel performed perfect. I caught 7 in 2 hrs and not 1 issue.Great drag system aswell! Had trouble tuning it just right at first but got it none the less. Highly dependable. Time to check out the speed Demon Elite now.
Looks great and feels great. I paired it up with a castaway 6.5' rod and I can't wait to use them both.
I’m really enjoying this reel. My first 10 min using it I caught a 5.24lb largemouth! The learning curve wasn’t bad at all considering this is my very first baitcaster. If I had to give it a negative mark I would say I wish it was a little smaller in the hand. I like that it’s a 200 size reel but I wish it was just a little thinner. I love Kastking I now own 3 of their products.
Bought this on sale and catches biggins first fish I caught was a nice 3 pounder. It casts right where I want it. Cork handles are comfy and the drag is smooth. Great reel would buy again. 2nd reel I've bought from them. Great quality.
I don't write reviews! But this one deserves one. I bought this reel for on a bastcasting rod I built from a old Fenwick ECTS 2 PEICE 6'6" spinning rod. I loved the rod for a long time and wanted to make it a baitcaster. So I needed a decent reel. I looked at reviews for the Kastking and the price was right so I pulled the trigger on it. Let's just say I am more than pleased. This thing sets up easy. CASTS a country mile , and once set up ,no backlash. It's smooth and built tough! For 65 bucks you can't beat it. I would venture to say it's as good as reels twice it's price. I think I'll be buying another one. Or two.
