I was looking for an entry level swimbait reel, but I quickly found out that the 300 size reels were not only the primary option for most anglers..but they also were out of my price range at the time. I did research on 200's, made lists of all 200 size reels available, cost and all. BY FAR Kastking has the best reel for exactly this! Paired it up with a 7' 10" Lamiglas xp bass series moderate fast / heavy (did the same research and lists for the rods)
I can't be happier got me some of my biggest fish yet!

After two weekends throwing swimbaits, this is an awesome reel and works as advertised. I'm casting farther and the large than normal handle is perfect for pulling fish out of the junk I throw swimbaits in.

This is the first bait casting reel I've ever used on Alaskan king salmon. I was able to get approximately 115 yards of 80 lb. braid on it, plenty of line for holding these large fish in pocket water off the main current. The river I fish flows and average of 13 MPH so this is a must. None of the 4 kings I landed were particularly large, in the 15-25 lb. range, but this reel performed flawlessly. Smooth as silk, a great caster, and a powerful enough drag to prevent fish from hitting the main current and taking off downriver. I have since purchased 2 more, which are spooled with plenty of 30 and 40 lb. braid for coho salmon in the salt. If you are pursuing larger fish, this is a great option at an affordable price!

After enjoying the Royale Legend II, I decided to upgrade to the Legend II 200. Many adventures to come.

This reel is a bit larger which makes it a perfect fit for those of us with larger hands. The line capacity is great. You won't be spooling on the cast. For the price, you won't beat this deal. This is my 3 Kast King reel and they are all used in saltwater without failure. I can't say that for a few other brands.

I received this reel from Kastking through their loyalty program and I was very skeptical at first but this reel is actually a great reel especially for the price. I have the Spartacus baitcasting reel that i did a side by side comparison to, which is also a great budget reel! I used them both on similar rods and used very similar crankbaits and i have to say that the extra money you have to spend to get this Royale Legend II 200 is differently worth it! The categories I'd say it is better is the amount of line it holds on the spool itself. Then when casting it you can feel it is a lot smoother than the Spartacus. Finally the design is very luxurious and sleek, this is not a big deal to me but figure I'd mention it. I look forward to using this reel more often and hope it keeps preforming great for me on my crankbait set up.

The Royale Legend II 200by KastKing.I couldn't wait to get my hands on this reel! Well packaged and undamaged upon arrival. After unboxing and verifying the contents.- Royale Legend II 200 Reel- Instruction Manual- Parts List and Diagram- Loyalty Program Warranty Card- KastKing Sticker- Stickers for Line Size and Date Spooled- QR Code Coupon for Super Power Braided LineThe instruction manual is clearly written and broken down into sections which will allow for an experienced user or someone new to using a baitcasting reel to easily understand and the text isn't so small that you can't read it.I spooled this reel with Superpower 30lb Braid by KastKing...It is what I have on hand and what I use on all of my reels regardless of the brand. The side plate is removable making spool access easy and has a nice latch keeping it locked in place. All of the adjustments for the reel are clearly marked and easily accessed. The reel isn't over or undersized and feels comfortable in my hand. The retrieve handle is well made and ample in size for small and larger hands and is not slippery. The body and the spool release are some kind of plastic/polymer but in no way feels cheap or flimsy. It has nice solid feel and a smooth cast. I would certainly recommend this reel to anyone looking for an Excellent Value in Quality Fishing Gear.

I've been fishing for 5 decades, but am new to the bait casting reel scene. I'm primarily a fly fisherman with spinning gear as a backup. I started on both an Abu Garcia Pro Max and this Kastking Royale Legend 200 earlier this year. I'm fishing in Alaska so I got the Kastking due to its larger line capacity. Both reels are smooth, efficient, and very user friendly with practice. Honestly, the Kastking loses nothing to the Abu Garcia. I used the Kastking over several days in Valdez, AK for silver (coho) salmon in the 6-14 lb. range. Coho are exceptionally powerful, fast, aggressive, airborne salmon that will test typical fishing gear. One author referred to them as the "drunk, angry uncle of the salmon family". Spooled with 30 lb. Kastking Super Power Braid and fished off Kastking's Royale Legend bait casting rod, it performed very well. It was a great combination, IMO, taming a dozen or so large coho which are now in my freezer, smoked, or canned. I have since picked up a second which I spooled with 65 lb. braid. I plan on using it for king salmon next year, and that's saying something because I never take shoddy gear for kings! Both reels spooled evenly, have strong, smooth drag systems, cast long distances, operate smooth as silk, and are a tremendous value! I highly recommend to anybody looking for a bait cast reel with higher line capacity for larger, stronger fish!

I really like this reel. It appears to be precisely machined and is very smooth (its new). Nice that the components are solid aluminum and graphite, rather than chrome plated zinc which ends up as white powder after a few years. The larger crank handle and 6.1:1 gear ratio means more torque for bigger fish. There are times/ places in the Chesapeake where big catfish are my target, (since thats all I'm going to find), so this is the reel for the job. Included instructions are superb.Compared to my Spartacus ll, which I also really like, this reel has a graphite body, larger spool capacity, grease port, lower gear ratio, fewer bearings (important? ehh), brass main gears, stronger drag, and a higher price. Not a beginner, but certainly not a pro either, this reel fits my needs nicely.

As smooth as you could hope for, while being sturdy enough to toss a couple ounce lures without stressing me out. Lures like ~6" swimbaits, shellcracker G2, and larger top waters are what I had in mind for the reel, and its a great fit. I haven't found anything to compete with this capacity, smoothness, and weight at this price. Excellent value.

This thing is slickly designed. It’s a beast already in prince form. From the size of it, you would think it would weigh a ton, but surprisingly it is very light weight. It includes a huge cranking handle that is sure to be able to bring in monsters. On top of all this positive praise, I have to also share that it operates as smooth as glass. I LOVE IT!

I'm very new to baitcasters, but love my Kastking products, and I wanted something I can take inshore fishing while targeting Reds, Trout, and Flounder. This thing is light, and will hold all the line I need, with the ability to adjust more than I know how to right now. This will be perfect to take out in my kayak to throw whatever I need to to, and be able to do it all day long. Kastking's customer service is second to known, so don't let their prices fool you, you are getting a quality product, just for less money.

As usual Kastking does not dissapoint, the reel is smooth, well built, and is pefect size for larger gamefish. Northern Pike, Salmon, Stipers, etc. The oversized thumb paddles really make pulling in large lures and fish easier. It has great line capacity and casts flawlessly. I have basically switched over to Kastking casting reels. Keep up the good work.

If you're considering this item, do not hesitate to make the purchase. KastKing makes dynamite products at affordable prices, and this reel is no different. The blue reel is the KastKing Royale Legend Elite and is pictured just as a reference to show you how much bigger The 200 is. The build quality is absolutely phenomenal with components typical found in much more expensive reels. I love how light it is considering its size, only 9 grams. I love that it has 8 magnetic brakes with 30 clicks or adjustment points. 4 disc carbon fiber drag system with 22 lbs of max drag at this price is a steal.
