Casts a country mile with my paired 8’ Okuma surf rod. The 3000 reel handled well on its maiden voyage in our PNW surf. Spooled with 30lb Spiderwire braided line - it smoothly and effortlessly reeled in huge redtails and double catches of Dungeness crab. I ordered three of these and paired with varied length poles - 8’, 9.5’ and 11’. I also own two Royals Legend II reels but I’m enjoying this reel the most.

Picked Golden Eagle 2000 size a couple months ago, and just used it on vaca in Montana. 17 - 22 inch rainbows in Missouri river and mountain lake to Yellowstone river bass, this reel proved its worth!!! This reel pulled non-cooperative trout against the river currents super smooth. Also, No issues or wind knots casting in the wind with 8 LB KastKing Destron braid. My last day of vaca was Allegheny River Smallmouths in SW PA, with same results.
Amazing reel guys I have a gold eagle spinning 2k paired with a 7 foot meduim by rapala amazing combination cuaght many pike on it last season and can't wait to get it back out
The 4000 Valiant Eagle Gold paired with the 6'6" Perigee II spinning rod and 30 lb. test KastKing braid is my go to combo for striped bass fishing on a party boat. So far this year, I've caught 6 striped bass ranging from 42" to 47".
I just received this reel and very impressed.... Does not look or feel like a reel in this price range. Screw in handle, super smooth and positive bail interaction. Very nice spool and a great and strong drag system, a reel with over 20 LBS drag system is what catches my attention.
