Been running this reel (1000 size) on my stream trout/panfish rod for 3 years and never had a problem with it. Good drag system and the high line per turn ratio makes retrieving lures in faster current a breeze. This reel is better in quality than some others that are double the price of this one.
The 4000 Valiant Eagle Gold paired with the 6'6" Perigee II spinning rod and 30 lb. test KastKing braid is my go to combo for striped bass fishing on a party boat. So far this year, I've caught 6 striped bass ranging from 42" to 47".
Bought this after using my sons KastKing reel. I’m definitely impressed by this reel. It is smooth and retrieves line well. Haven’t hooked a monster yet but for small bass and pan fish it had no issues with the retrieval. Lowered the drag just to see it work and was great and smooth. Paired it with a carbon 7’ medium power fast action rod and will cast as far as my Shimano baitcasters will. I will be adding more KastKing products to my line up in the future. I will also post pictures when I get a catch worth posting.
I have the valiant eagle gold edition and a summer spinning reelsand have not been disappointed these are great reels very smooth action performs great nice look and the price is amazing beats any reel I've ever bought from bass pro. Both reels was the 3000 the only thing I would have say for a negative point was they were out of the 2000 and the color I wanted so I went with the 3000 . I have now order a 3rd reel and a rod zephyr 3000 and a Royale charge to see how good thier rods are but again out of the size and color of the reel so I went to the 3000 again no big deal tho. Still great reels. The shipping was fast and arrived on time and in good shape when recieved. Karting reels will be my choice for now on. If you don't want to pay high dollar or tired of paying a high price for a great reel try Karting you won't be disappointed
