Rover Round Baitcasting Reel

Pretty decently built may Kast a few heavy action seasons on freshwater lakes. Like that I can turn “audible clicker” on/off. Might be good for trolling drag indicator if tuned right. Took off a star as even discounted great price the gears are crunchy and the ratio may be a little low even with a full spool. Usually with a conventional reel having 6 bearings you get a smooth crank turn right out of the box. Another part of the missing 5th star is a general rating for the Kong poles being out of stock for almost every Heavy reel I ordered. I feel this is not acceptable. I’m not seeing any anglers with Kong poles out here in Texas and I fish constantly and engage with everyone I get near enough to talk fishing! All in all it’s a good well built weekend warrior level use reel that I can see lasting a few years if well maintained.

First Baitcaster, I watched the Kastking videos on this reel. Pretty easy to learn. Can’t wait to start using it for Musky fishing and Salomon on Lake Michigan!!! Looks really cool in black, size 60.

I recently purchased two Rover 80’s to use for flathead fishing. The KastKing Rover reels are smooth and rock solid. I have two of the 60 models and have put them through a lot of abuse without any issues!

I am an avid saltwater fisherman, on the Texas Gulfcoast, and have used four models of the Rover Round reels. Initially, I felt that the drags were a little weak, but they have since made upgrades to the drags, and these are my "go to" reels now. I catch big fish, and am very impressed with their performance. I routinely outcast friends with much more expensive reels.

I have only been largely lake and pond fishing most of my life and after getting a river rod with no reel on sale at a bait shop I looked into reels. This one seemed the best for my purposes and after using it and learning more about river baitcasters, it's a super sturdy reel that can cast like an absolute beast. Very happy with the purchase. The Kast King is the middle rod.

Packaging was top notch on delivery to me! I mounted this reel on a Kastking Kong 7’6” baitcast rod! This is my second Kastking conventional baitcaster reel the first was a 60R! The 50R works great, pretty easy to tune for different weight Catfish rigs such as Santee Cooper or Carolina Rigs! For the money these reels are a good combination for any Catfish or big water saltwater setups!
