Great product

The Sharky lll Long Cast Reel is everything it is advertised to be. I used the reel spooled with 10lb test last Friday chasing smallmouths below bait. The reel casts really well and had no problem with a 1/4 oz jig head with a 3.3 swim bait. The reel not only casts well but has an excellent drag system. It’s everything that I expected from KastKing, quality and value. I now own 13 KastKing reels not counting the ones I gave my son. Once again great product.

Perfect reel for river smallmouth

This reel is in between a bfs and regular sized bass reel. It casts very well. It may be my all time favorite smallmouth reel. I bought it with the Versus casting rod (7’ medium, 6-12lb line). It would probably work well with a light bfs rod though I haven’t tried it with mine. The spool is super light and shallow but still holds much more line than a bfs reel. Braking system works well and is easy to dial in, I took the play out of the spool and pretty much just use the mag dial when I change lures. This reel is a sleeper, I can’t believe theres not a single YouTube video of this superb reel. (Jimmy does one or 2 on the older version but not this one)

Not a pro

I have the sharky3,Royal Legand Glory and the Spartacus 2.all 3 are just great.They all work as advertised.Icant find a thing bad to say about them.The proper set set up is a must.Watch the videos in the advertisement.on the set up.Im not a pro and i have had back lashes before, but so far with Kastking very little.All there reels work and work well.Try them you wont be dissapointed.Thank you KASTKING.Dan Gibson

I just got the reel and have used it once at the time of writing this review.

The reel is very light, and feels solid in the hand. I spooled mine up with 20lb 8 carrier braid, and used a 15lb Fluorocarbon leader. I rigged it up with a 1/4oz Free rig, with a baby D-Bomb.

This reel is incredibly smooth, and it really does cast very far. I tested it's casting capability against my Shimano SLX DC with a 1oz Walking bait, and the Sharky III cast the 1/4oz Free rig just as far as the Shimano cast the 1oz walking bait. I was very impressed.

I was also impressed that this baitcaster's spool clicks when drag is pulled.

I cannot speak to longevity, but initial impressions are very positive.

I've only had a chance to use it once since I got it but, It casts very smooth and great distance. Like the other KastKing reels I have its very comfortable in my hand. If your thinking about it...do it.
