I bought this reel for a trip to Mexico. Initially, I thought that this reel's casting abilities were small. However, this reel LAUNCHES 1/2-ounce lures. I was COMLETELY shocked by this reel. Trust me when I say this: I have spent at least 48 hours on my computer researching the best reel. Reviews, videos, and articles have led me to pick the Crixus." Buy this reel now!! You will NOT be dissapointed.

The first time I took this reel out to use it, after a few casts the bail had started to close during casting. I had noticed the screw holding the bail roller had almost fallen completely out. Needless to say my day ended there with this reel. When I got home I had to realign the bail and tighten EVERY SINGLE SCREW ON THIS REEL. They were all loose including the body screws. I have no confidence in this reel in lasting long but I guess it’s ok for the occasional angler. Not me though

Smooth reel with a lot of great features for the price. The drag system is carbon so you don't need to worry about loosening your drag when you finish fishing it for the day,the drag clicker also has a very nice audible tone. The braid ready spool is a great thing to have and the reel is very smooth on the retrieve.

Wow for this very nice reel! Really sharp with the all black look and the handle and grip are comfortable. I got the 1000 for crappie fishing and might grab a 2000 for walleye.

I already had a Kastking Royale legend II. I thought that one was amazing even convinced 2 friends to buy one for themselves. My expectations were similar for the Crixus. When I opened the package I was surprised with a neat kastking box. A very good presentation for an inexpensive baitcasting reel..I lined the reel with 30 pound braid. Got about 100 yards on the spool. Texas rigged up an old bait and weight went outside in the yard and casted it (in the dark). I was half expecting to get a bird's-nest since it was dark but it didn't backlash at all. I took it out today on the lake fished in some trees and pulled in a 3 pound large mouth. Drag worked correctly. The reel flips good and casts excellent. If I'm buying any other baitcasters I'm definitely getting another Crixus.

Incredible quality in the two spinning reels I got so I thought I would try my hand at a baitcaster. It has been years since I owned one and simply put, bait casters take practice. I was so impressed by the KastKing Spinning Reels I figurfed I was learn baitcasting again and KastKing did not disappoint me.Adjustments and Magnets made relearning easy and I really love the feel. I will definitely buy a second. If I have any complaint, it really centers around KastKing offering so many differfent reels and it is very difficult to decide which one to pick and what the differences are. With all of their offerings, it is actually a bit annoying. That's my only complaint.Really love KastKing!!!

My 9 year old grandson goes through reels so this one has been a pleasure so far. He just caught a big catfish on it yesterday. He loves how it works and the black paint job on it looks cool.

Really like these reels for the money! I own two: white one is for crankbaits/spinbaits and the black one is for everything else. Both cast very well and no backlashes so far. 25-30 yard casts are easy with these with a bit of practice. I started my casts with brakes set on 9 and slowly worked them down including backing down on the tension knob until I achieved the desired cast distance with no backlashes. I’m able to cast this out one handed without worry. Love the clicks on the tension knob. Would recommend these to anyone over a similarly priced Lews or Abu Garcia. I own the Lews LFS and Abu Silver Max and these feel substantially better.

I previously purchased a kastking baitcaster reel and wanted to try out their spinning reels. Action is smooth. Product is well made. Kastking gives you more for less money.

I have ordered other reels of theirs and had good luck with them so I decided to try a couple more. So far it's been an amazing reel. Seems to hold up well with big fish and the drag is super smooth. Thank you.

Best cheap reel you can buy. Out preforms my more expensive reels. Very smooth!! Will definitely be buying more in the future

I like how all the adjustments on the reel click so you know how many increments youre adjusting. The build feels solid, smooth, and sturdy. Loving it! As with all other kastking products its one of the best quality!

This is my second Kastking baitcaster (my other is the Royale Legend). I'm still impressed with the level of value Kastking provides. The new U-Spool design shape is great with a built in tie off so you can tie braid directly to the spool without fear of slipping without backing. The new gearbox design of the Crixus sits the the reel closer to the rod making palming more comfortable especially if you have smaller hands. And the Crixus still has the Maxi-Dur saltwater rated bearings which makes this reel very versatile if you happen to fish both fresh and salt. What I appreciate this time is that Kastking listed the number of bearings as the number of bearings IN THE REEL itself. The 7+1 bears are all in the body of the reel. Whereas with the Royale Legend is listed as an 11+1 bearing reel, however 6 of those bearings are in two handle paddles. I consider the Royale Legend to be a 4+1 bearing reel.

Was really impressed with this reel, it surprised me so far just finished my first tournament with it. It held up great in the yak. Will be ordering more the price is good! You could easily pay more for a reel and get alot less of one!

Seriously impressed with this reel. Well all KastKing products I've had as well. I bought this on a whim and I paired it up with a Favorite 6'6" MH fast "white bird" rod on 15 lb braid and it's an absolute dream setup. The thing is the smoothest reel I've ever used and I have a $350 Lew’s Pro-Ti SLP reel on a $150 St. Croix rod. I was throwing a 3/8 chatterbait 75 feet easily. It took no time for setup and any backlash I had was my own fault for the technique I was using. First time using it I caught over 20 bass and a great size catfish. The catfish definitely put the drag to the test but the reel just ate through it all. Seriously buy this reel and you won't be disappointed!Every KastKing product I've used has been great quality that is crazy affordable. I'm definitely going to be buying more of their stuff and supporting a quality company like this.Edit 10/10/2020: bought another one as a father's day gift. Still the best reel I've used to date.

Work great order more that day

I'm primarily a kayak bass angler who usually launches with 5 rods on board, all KastKing. I'm also not a gearhead which seems rare in fishing at times. I'm sure there's no shortage of anglers who will tell me that a Daiwa baitcasting reel is worth $250, but for me its about good value for the price and KastKing has been that brand for me and my family. After all I have a mortgage and two teenagers to feed! This Crixus baitcaster fast became my favorite in the arsenal in a matter months and seemingly 1000's of casts. But then during a tournament I lost torque to the reel and it wouldn't retrieve the line. I made a desperate attempt to try to fix it during the tournament and in the process, dropped the brake cover in the water. After voicing my curse fueled frustrations to the ducks and geese, I finished the tournament with one less rod. Well, two emails and a phone call later to KastKing and they replaced the entire reel. They even paid the cost of shipping my now partial and useless reel back to them. I was already a loyal customer and their incredible customer service just rubberstamped me as a lifelong customer....In the meantime if you're ever fishing New Hogan Lake in California, let me know if you hook into a KastKing brake cover because its still down there at the bottom of the lake.

I bought 3 crixus reels in different gear ratios and really like the reels for crankbaits and worm fishing...I did have an issue with 1 reel, the line guide on the reel popped out on the 3rd cast and I have not reached out to customer service for repair or replacement so we'll see.......
